The Trick To Finding The Right Homeowners Insurance

Finding the right homeowners insurance can be tough for any homeowner. The trick to finding the best homeowners insurance for you is being an informed consumer and asking the right questions. Find the right insurance policy by asking these 4 questions while comparing home insurance rates.

  1. Ask about what the insurance policy does and does not cover. Homeowners insurance can be broad when it comes to the huge range of coverage offered. Take the time to go over certain scenarios that you could see happening to your home. Anticipating future damages ahead of time can help you discover the right coverage limit for you as well as any other additional insurance plans you may feel you need for the protection of your home.
  2. Find out how much of your stuff you need protected. A good way of doing this is with a home inventory checklist. That is a list of all of your valuable things including a cost of each item as well as how much it would cost to replace the item. Add up the assets of your home to know how high you should set your liability coverage limits.
  3. Discover how much would it cost you to rebuild your home. Dwelling coverage is the part of homeowners insurance that will handle any damage to the structure of your home. The protection in dwelling coverage is vital to your homeowners policy so make sure you have enough coverage by assessing the cost of damage.
  4. Check to see that the insurance company that you are working with is trustworthy. To find out if an insurance company is reliable or not, make sure to check the financial strength of the company and make sure that the company is licensed.

4 Things You Can Do To Save Money On Life Insurance

Life insurance is something that everyone needs but that does not mean it is something that everyone can easily afford. If you have been searching for ways to save money on life insurance then you are in luck. We at All Nevada Insurance have compiled a list of ways that you can save on life insurance coverage.

  1. Compare the rates of different insurance companies to find the best price for you. Comparing different quotes from other insurers will help you discover a range of premiums and compare different features in each policy. Look around for the best policy premiums, benefits, and terms and conditions.
  2. Make sure the coverage you choose is right for your unique needs. Having the maximum amount of coverage may feel like the best choice for your future but it may not be the best option for your wallet. Understand what you need from your insurance and choose your coverage based on that.
  3. Create a healthier lifestyle to increase your chances of paying less for life insurance. Improving your exercise routine can lower your chances of developing dangerous diseases and can help you save money in the long run. Quitting harmful activities like smoking and getting involved in wellness programs can help you better negotiate a lower price for your life insurance.
  4. Buy your life insurance as soon as possible. Buying your insurance at a younger age is the best way to lock in a lower rate. Younger and healthier applicants can benefit from lower premiums and flat rates for longer periods of time.

All Nevada Insurance can work with you to find the right life insurance at the best price. We have over 70 years of experience in Las Vegas, Nevada and will happily find a solution for any of your insurance needs. Contact us today to get started with your coverage.

Insurance Policies for Your College Student

With your children going back to school, it is important to make sure that they are protected while they are out of your house. If you have a child that is going to college this year, it is important to look over your insurance policies to ensure that they have enough coverage for any situation.

  • Homeowners insurance. Your already existing homeowners insurance policy should provide the right amount of coverage if your child is moving into an on campus dorm. Homeowners insurance policies will provide a certain amount of liability for belongings that are kept at a different residence, such as at a dorm. Make sure to contact your insurance agent to ensure that you have the right amount of coverage for all of their belongings.
  • Renter’s insurance. The only way to provide the right amount of protection for your child’s assets if they are moving into an off campus house or apartment is to invest in a renter’s insurance policy. Although the landlord will have an insurance policy for the building, it will not cover the assets that are inside. Also make sure that you do not rely on a roommate that has a policy, since they will typically not have enough coverage to cover the belongings of two people.
  • Auto insurance. Even if your child is not taking their car to school, do not remove them from your auto insurance policy, since they may still drive the car when they come home for break. You may qualify for discounts to help you save on your auto insurance if your child goes to school more than 100 miles away, or if the maintain at least a “B” average.

What to Do if Your Car is Totaled

Getting into a car accident is bad enough, and it can be even worse if the accident totals your car. Dealing with an accident that ends in totaling your car needs to be handled slightly different than a normal car accident. Make sure that you know what to do if your car is totaled after an accident.

If your car is totaled, it means that the cost to fix your car is more than the car is worth. After an accident, your insurance company will use a source such as Kelley Blue Book to determine the actual cash value of your vehicle. That value will then be adjusted according to the condition that your car was in before the accident. The cash value of your vehicle will be lower if it was dented, leaking, and rusted, as opposed to being in pristine condition. The final value will also take customization, mileage, and enhancements into consideration.

Once your insurance company comes up with the value of your vehicle, they will then subtract the estimated cost of repairs and salvage value of your vehicle. If the actual cash value of your car is less than the salvage and repair costs, they will consider your car totaled.

If you own your car outright when it is totaled, the company will typically write you a check for the actual cash value of your car, minus your deductible and any other fees. If you are leasing your car, the leasing company will get the same amount of money, and if there is any left over, you will get the balance.

Most importantly make sure that you have the right auto insurance policy that will provide you with the right amount of coverage in case your car is totaled in an accident. Contact the insurance professionals at All Nevada Insurance, for all of your auto insurance policy needs throughout Nevada.

Unplug to Save Money

While it may be easy to simply leave your chargers in the wall when you are not using it, or when your phone or computer is fully charged, it may actually be costing you money. Unplugging your unused chargers can help to ensure that you do not get a surprise on your next energy bill. Keep these tips in mind to help you stay unplugged while you are not using your chargers.

  • Unplug any devices that are rarely used. If you have an extra TV that you keep in the guest room, or an old desktop computer that does not get much use, unplug them until the next time you need to use them.
  • Invest in power strips. A power strip will allow you to control the flow of the power. Being able to control the power means that you will be able to turn off many appliances all at once so that they are not using any electricity while you are not home, or not using the appliances. Consider connecting the power strips to a light switch so that you remember to turn off all the appliances when you leave home.
  • Use sleep modes. Instead of leaving computers and video game consoles paused for long periods of time, set your game console or computer to sleep mode. Just this one simple step can help you save more than $100 each year on your electric bill.
  • Consider upgrades. If you are buying new appliances, make sure to look for models that have an Energy Star rating. These will have a lower standby consumption of electricity and use less electricity in all of their functions.
