Studies have revealed the seven vehicles that are the safest as far as front crash prevention is. Having one of these cars virtually guarantees lower insurance rates than you would have otherwise. Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, Subaru and Volvo were all represented highly in these crash test ratings.
The seven safest vehicles in 2013 and 2014 models were as follows: the Cadillac ATS Sedan, the Cadillac SRX SUV, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the Subaru Legacy Sedan, the Subaru Outback Wagon, the Volvo S60 Sedan and the Volvo XC60 SUV. Out of all of these, the two Cadillacs scored highest with the other vehicles scoring similarly.
These safety ratings were only based on front crash prevention. Other vehicles may be safer for side collisions or after a crash has already occurred. Nevertheless, these vehicles all represent a very safe choice. The safer your car is, the lower your insurance premiums are likely to be.
