What everyone needs to know about the changing health insurance Marketplace.
Have you signed up for health insurance yet? Open enrollment started on November 1st, giving everyone the chance to enroll in a health plan that will best suit their needs. Knowing what changes to look out for when signing up for coverage can help to ensure that you are able to find the right policy.
Even though this open enrollment is the third sign up period since the start of the Affordable Care Act, there are many changes. Many of the plans are completely different from what they were in the past. From different deductibles to changing copays, some plans are not much more generous while others are more restricted. With all the changes that are happening with plans, it is important to take the time to really look into your existing coverage to ensure that you will get to enjoy the right amount of protect.
Changes were also made to the insurers that will be providing policies through Nevada Health Link. Two carriers left the marketplace, including Nevada Health CO-OP, which was designed to provide competition to the health care exchange.
You have the chance to sign up for a health insurance plan during open enrollment until it closes on January 31, 2016. If you sign up for coverage through open enrollment by December 15th, your coverage will begin on January 1, 2016. The date that you sign up for your health insurance plan will dictate the time that your coverage will kick in.
