Factors That Affect Your Home Insurance Premium

Factors That Affect Your Home Insurance Premium

Home insurance is crucial to protect your property. But what affects the cost of this insurance?

Homeowners insurance may seem like a huge expense every month, but it’s something that no homeowner should go without! Certain factors can impact the cost of your homeowners insurance, meaning that there are some factors that you do have control over.

Here’s a look at some of the factors that figure into your premium.

The construction of your home. Homes made with more durable materials are less susceptible to damage and therefore generally cost less to insure.

The age of your home. If you bought an older house because of its vintage appeal, you may discover that enjoying its old-world charm on a daily basis comes with a hefty price. The main reason for this is that older homes are fitted with older, therefore generally less safe, electrical, plumbing, and cooling systems.

Your claims history. Just like with car insurance, the more claims you file, the higher your premiums soar. Be smart and you can potentially save a lot of money on premium rates while reserving your insurance claims for a time when you really need it.

Smokers as inhabitants. Smoking in the home raises the risk of a fire, which increases the cost of your insurance. Just one more reason to kick the habit!

Location: If your home is located in a zone where floods, earthquakes or other damage may occur, your premiums may be higher. If your home is near a fire station or hydrant, your home may be eligible for lower premiums.

Luckily, finding the right home insurance premium and coverage isn’t impossible. Contact the professionals at All Nevada Insurance, serving Las Vegas and neighboring cities in Nevada with quality homeowners insurance.

Get Educated This National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Get Educated This National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

How are you celebrating National Breast Cancer Awareness Month?

Across the nation, October is dedicated to breast cancer awareness. This cancer takes thousands of women’s lives every year, and countless women continue to struggle and fight the disease. October marks the month for women to get educated, for communities and individuals to support those with breast cancer, and for awareness to be raised in order to tackle breast cancer.

Here are some little-known facts about breast cancer in the States:

  • One in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.
  • It is the second leading cause of cancer death among women.
  • Each year it is estimated that over 252,710 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,500 will die.
  • Even though breast cancer is rare in men, it is estimated that 2,470 will be diagnosed with breast cancer and around 460 will die each year.
  • Over 3.3 million breast cancer survivors are alive in the United States today.

To help you and your loved ones stay safe, check out these strategies for preventing breast cancer:

  • Reduce animal protein. Consuming high amounts of meat and dairy products raises blood levels of insulin-like growth factor one (IGF-1). Elevated levels of IGF-1 have been associated with increased breast cancer risk in many studies.
  • Stay active. Research found that women with high levels of physical activity reduce their risk of breast cancer by 25 percent. Maintaining a healthy weight is also important, since 17 percent of breast cancer cases have attributed to obesity alone.
  • Avoid alcohol. Studies found that alcohol increases the risk of breast cancer, typically around 15 percent. In breast cancer survivors, drinking 3 or 4 alcoholic beverages per week could increase the risk of recurrence by 34 percent.
  • Add a whole grain. Whole grains contain high amounts of fiber, vitamins, and minerals, and compounds only found in plant-based foods.

As you take the time to protect your health, think about those who are without. You can get active this month by fundraising for breast cancer charities, participate in runs and walks for the cause, and help spread the message through social media!

You can protect your future health by eating the right foods living a healthy lifestyle! To protect your financial future, contact All Nevada Insurance, serving Las Vegas and surrounding cities in Nevada.

The Main Benefits of Becoming a Franchisee

Benefits of Becoming a Franchisee

Run your own business without facing the hurdles of a new business.

There’s little that we do in life where we don’t first consult the pros. We always prepare ourselves for big steps, such as learning to drive, taking an exam, or making financial decisions. Dipping our toes in and learning from the pros is how we best succeed in our endeavors. So why jump head first into a business that you’re not prepared for? Instead of landing yourself in the awkward position of attempting to run your own small business, purchasing a franchise is a wise choice to get you started.

The franchise route is often considered more secure, less risky, and more successful than starting up a traditional small business.

Here is just a handful of some of the benefits:

  • Established brand
  • Proven business concept and operating model
  • Established operating policies, procedures, and standards
  • Lower statistical risk of failure
  • Immediate momentum on opening through established brand equity of the franchise
  • Established customer base of the franchise
  • Training and ongoing support from the franchisor
  • Shared marketing costs with the franchisor and other franchisees
  • Support in difficult times from the franchisor
  • Ongoing product and service innovation
  • Increased buying power via the franchise group
  • Easier to obtain finance from banks and other lenders
  • Increased chance of a successful sale of the franchise upon exit

Even with all these benefits in reach, the franchisee must be able to take on the duty with due diligence.

Once you’ve made the decision to become a franchise business owner, take a look at the All Nevada Insurance franchise system.  Get started with your franchise system today with All Nevada Insurance.

Are You Looking to Buy a Franchise? Here’s How to Start!

How to Start a Franchise

Easy tips on how to get started with your franchise opportunity.

A franchise model offers a good track record, an established brand name, training programs, support, and marketing assistance. With all that at hand, it’s no surprise that many entrepreneurs are drawn to the built-in security. The best thing that you can do before buying a franchise is to research.

Here are some of the best ways to get started!

Attend franchise events. The International Franchise Expo hosts over 300 franchises and even more interested individuals. It’s a one-stop-shop in terms of basic information and networking, as well as determining which franchise opportunity you want to become a part of.

Talk to franchisors and franchisees. As an initial step, head to the franchise’s website and request more information or call them directly. Ask in-depth questions so that you fully understand the ins and outs of joining the team. If you want much of the truth, ask the franchisees directly about their experiences, including the support they’ve received. For a better hands-on look, see if you can shadow him or her for one day.

Ask consultants, lawyers. A franchise consultant, also called a broker or coach, can provide excellent advice, although keep in mind they are often working for the franchisor. This is a good route to go to avoid a mess later one down the road.

Perform a web search. The whole web is at your fingertips, so many the most of it! Find out everything you need to know, how you can prepare, view legal documents, and ensure there are no lawsuits filed against the chosen company.

Get Healthy: Say Goodbye to These Unhealthy Foods

Get Healthy: Say Goodbye to These Unhealthy Foods

Leave these food items off your plate from now on.

Many people are becoming more and more aware of what is good for us and what to avoid on a daily basis. With research and information at our fingertips, a large majority are looking to constantly improve their health through eating the right foods!

This year, combat the risk of health conditions, obesity, and a plethora of other health issues by skipping these 10 foods!

  1. Doughnuts– One doughnut is around 300 calories. As a doughnut is basically deep-fried sugar, opt for an apple with your morning coffee instead!
  2. Eggs – It is illegal to label eggs as ‘healthy’ or ‘nutritious’ or even ‘safe’, believe it or not. Eggs contain the same amount of cholesterol as a Big Mac and are over 60 percent of saturated fat. Both of these factors can severely increase one’s risk of heart disease, diabetes, cancers, and strokes.
  3. Burgers – Beef burgers are high in fat content and loaded with cholesterol and saturated fat. Leave burgers off your plate this year.
  4. French Fries – A medium order of fries has 365 calories along with 17 grams of fat and a whopping 246mg of salt!
  5. Chips – Eating chips is a quick way to intake more sodium than is healthy. Sodium can contribute to serious health disorders.
  6. Dairy – Meant for calves, dairy is something that should be avoided by humans. Contrary to popular belief, consuming dairy actually increases your risk of bone fracture and osteoporosis. The growth factors, hormones, and high calcium content are believed to contribute to causing cancer, obesity, acne, and more. Switch to plant-based milks and milk alternatives!
  7. Deep-Fried Foods – Need we say more? Fried food instantly adds to calorie and fat intake.
  8. Soda– Those who have one sugary beverage a day have a significantly greater chance of developing type 2 diabetes than those who skip the soda.
  9. Microwave Popcorn– This treat makes the list of cancer-causing foods. The buttery taste comes from chemicals called diacetyl and PFOA – otherwise known as listed carcinogens (cancer-causing chemicals)!
  10. Meat – Processed meats can be found everywhere. The bad news is that these are one of the unhealthiest foods that you can eat (despite it being listed last). Processed meat has been linked to a greater risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, and cancer. Opt for high-quality meats or plant-based proteins instead!

You can protect your future health by eating the right foods and cutting back on unhealthy food! To protect your financial future, contact All Nevada Insurance, serving Las Vegas and surrounding cities in Nevada.

Stay Safe on the Road with These Autumn Driving Tips

Stay Safe on the Road with These Autumn Driving Tips

Switch safety gears and review your auto insurance for fall.

The fall season is upon us, and we’re welcoming in changing leaves, cooler nights, and the festive season. While we’re enjoying the colors of autumn, motorists face a new set of challenges while driving on the roads. From fallen leaves to inclement weather, drivers should prepare for fall driving dangers.

The fall leaves create quite a picturesque landscape – but a hazardous driving one! Here are just a few of the hazards that you may experience in the autumn:

  • The autumn leaves and drizzling rain create a slippery surface on the road. Take care when you’re driving in areas with lots of bare trees and always slow down if you come to debris in the middle of the road.
  • When it rains, the oil on the roads creates a slick surface. Be sure to leave enough space between you and the driver in front as your stopping distance may increase.
  • Autumn is the time when we change our clocks, which means that you may lose visibility on the roads. Turn on your lights at dusk and dawn.
  • Ice is especially prevalent during October and November. You may need to equip your vehicle with snow tires. Additionally, beware of black ice on the road by taking wet roads slowly.
  • Fall is deer mating season, so the likelihood of you meeting a deer increases now. Slow down during dusk and dawn, when the deer are most active, and always drive slowly on country roads.
  • Before you head out on that autumn driving trip, give your car some TLC to properly prepare it for the season and roads ahead.

Fortunately, when you’re involved in a disaster, your auto insurance can step in to help cover the finances. Now is the time to review your coverage to make sure that you’re protected for the season ahead!

Do You Have Any of These Gaps in Your Auto Insurance?

Do You Have Any of These Gaps in Your Auto Insurance?

Find out if your car insurance policy has substantial gaps.

Motorists purchase auto insurance to protect themselves, their vehicle, and their finances from suffering a loss during an accident. When it comes to deciding on a policy that offers such protection, many select the cheapest policy. However, such a policy may not offer coverage for some events that could leave you financially strained.

When it comes to gaps in your auto insurance, here are a few lacking coverages that you should double-check before securing your policy.

Drivers & Vehicles
Which drivers and vehicles are covered by your auto insurance? Most policies provide coverage for you and your family members living with you. While your child who is living in a college dorm may be covered, your other child living in an off-campus apartment may be excluded from coverage.

Devices
Your electronic devices may not be covered for stolen or damaged cell phones or other devices. Should these items be stolen from your car, your home insurance may provide coverage. To prevent theft from occurring in the first place, store devices out of sight.

Rentals
Your own collision coverage may apply to the rental car you’re driving, but it may not cover all of the damages alleged by the rental company, such as loss of use charges. If you’re leasing a car long-term, your policy may only cover the replacement cost if the car is a total loss or is stolen. However, the amount may not cover the outstanding balance of your lease.

Now that you know what coverages your policy may be lacking, be sure to secure your reliable, all-encompassing auto insurance by giving All Nevada Insurance a call today.

Enjoy the Return of Football Season with This Burger Recipe!

Football is back, so it’s time to try this veggie burger tailgate recipe!

Football season is coming up, and many are prepping their portable grills and readying the car for tailgate parties. While you organize your guest list and fill your cooler, try making something a little healthier for snacking on while watching the game.

Serve this meatless black bean burger on a bun with hot sauce, lettuce, and tomato!

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups cooked quinoa
  • 1-15 ounce can black beans, rinsed and drained (or about 1½ cups)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoons salt
  • ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon chunky salsa
  • ¼ cup + 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs, divided (gluten free if necessary)
  • Olive oil, for browning burgers
  • Buns

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients plus ¼ cup of the bread crumbs to a food processor. Process for 45-60 seconds until all ingredients are blended together, but still a little bit chunky. Transfer mixture to a medium-sized bowl and refrigerate for about ten minutes. Remove from the refrigerator and stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of bread crumbs. Form mixture into patties. You will get about 6 patties, depending on the size you make them. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper and place black bean burgers on. Refrigerate for about 20 minutes.
  2. Heat a large pan over medium heat and coat the bottom with olive oil. Cook the burgers for about 3-5 minutes on each side, until crisp and heated through. Top with your favorite burger toppings and enjoy!
