October is breast cancer awareness month. For people who have had or are currently battling breast cancer, it’s a time to reach out to others and remind them about mammograms and other procedures which can save lives. Many people who have had friends or relatives with cancer also join in during this time, in an effort to spare another family the pain of losing a loved one to a terrible disease.
While it’s not always possible to cure breast cancer, early detection is the key to having the best chance of survival. It’s very important that women are aware of their breast health, and that they work toward educating other women who may not know the dangers or realize how important it is to have regular checkups for their breast health. Understanding the importance of finding problems early can help save a lot of lives.
