As summer winds down and fall approaches, if you are looking for activities for locals in Las Vegas, there are plenty of interesting and exciting events coming up that will either delight your family or help your community – and they are free to attend!
For family fun, watching outdoor movies with the kids can’t be beat. Bring your family, lawn chairs, blankets and snacks to The District at Green Valley Ranch every Friday and Saturday night through October for free, kid-friendly entertainment. On Saturday, August 24, your family will enjoy The Lorax.
What could be more family-friendly than a new household member? Find your new cat or dog at a pet adoption event. It’s a win-win for everyone. Pet adoptions are held weekly at Tivoli Village (inside The Dog House), 302 S. Rampart Blvd. On Sunday, August 25, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. you can choose your new family member from a variety of needy critters available for adoption.
If the Arts are your thing, set aside the first Friday of each month to attend First Friday. This ongoing event features arts and entertainment at a social block party. Stop by on Friday, September 6, 6pm – 10pm for cool local art, street performances and live music.
